The name ‘Chypre’ does not originate, as it is often suggested, from cypresses, but from the French word for the island of Cyprus.

The first perfumes of this class were created by the ancient Romans.

They are characterised by a warm, but dry scent, with woody, floral and resinous notes. They are called by many as one of the most beautiful fragrances. Although it was primary Guerlain who has attempted to market the product in its original version, the perfumes gained its recognition in 1917 thanks to Francois Coty and his perfumes simply called Chypre.

At the time when perfumery was a craft and all perfumes were created only from natural substances, the dream of every perfumer was to create permanent perfumes that remained on the skin for a long period of time. Chypre fragrances have always been regarded as such because of the high content of resin tinctures and heavy floral absolutes.

Our version of this classic fragrance, most likely, does not differ much from what Romans visiting Cyprus and the Middle East could have smelled. It is a sweet, heavy fragrance reminiscent of a dry summer day on the island.

It is a fragrance that is not afraid of its sensuality, which should be applied directly on bare skin so that it does not stain clothes, where after a while it combines with the skin and creates a unified whole.

Its black and tarry texture only proves its quality and high concentration.

The perfume label was printed on cotton paper, black letterpress printing, where the gold frame indicates hot stamping. Both prints were made on more than a century old printing machines from the turn of the XX century. Our bottles come from the North of France, where the last factories in the world, outside of China, produce perfume bottles, made semi-manually.

The pouch added to the perfume, sewn and printed in Warsaw, 100% cotton, is tied with a cotton string without a nylon centre.

Natural perfumes, unlike synthetic perfumes, not only offer a much richer olfactory experience, but also, due to the content of natural essential oils, it renders aromatherapeutic sensations.

Our ‘parfum concentration’ of the perfumes stay on the skin for about 5 hours. All our perfumes are free of substances that enhance the fragrance, its durability and range. The natural fragrance stays in our personal space and is a discreet highlight of our personality.

In the case of this fragrance, we advise you not to apply it on clothing because they may stain (yes, we have said it already ;)).

Just like natural cosmetics, natural perfumes may cause an allergic reaction to susceptible people, when applied directly to the skin, especially that they are highly concentrated. If so, the solution is to use less or spray from a greater distance.
